Before the elections, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised to rename the Krishna district, the native district of NT Ramarao as NTR district. Not much happened on that front after coming to power. Jagan did not talk ever about NTR later on. Today on NTR’s Birth anniversary, Jagan’s sister, Sharmila paid tributes to the legendary leader.
“Very happy to remember NTR who abolished Patel, Patwari system and gave political opportunities to BCs in the legislature. He is the one who gave equal property rights to women and came to the rescue of the poor with Two Rupees per kilo rice scheme,” Sharmila posted on her Twitter account.
She further quoted an article about NTR published in Andhrajyothy Newspaper today. We all know the rivalry between Andhrajyothy and YSR Congress but the media house is giving good coverage to Sharmila in Telangana politics even before she revealed the intention of foraying into politics.
The tweet is now going viral on social media with people discussing Sharmila’s special interest in NTR. At the time of writing this article, AP CM Jagan is yet to pay tribute to NTR.
