Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has responded to the Ticket Prices issue for the first time. Speaking at a public meeting, Jagan Mohan Reddy termed those opposing the ticket prices hike as anti-poor.
“Those criticizing me are even not sparing when I tried to give the poor entertainment at affordable rates. We decided the rates keeping the poor in mind. They are criticizing even that. Are these people who think of the poor and care for the poor? These are anti-poor. They are enemies of the poor,” the Chief Minister said.
This is the first time the Chief Minister has responded on the ticket prices issue and it looks like bad news. The Chief Minister is clearly labeling the act as pro-poor and takes pride in it. That means he is unlikely to revise the rates as per the vote bank theory.
That is definitely bad news as far as the industry is concerned. All those hopes of better things to come with the appointment of a Government suddenly look bleak.
