The meeting of Telugu film industry biggies and Cinematography Minister Perni Nani is currently happening in Amaravati. But then, the Government has changed the agenda at the last minute. Instead of the Ticket Prices issue, the Government has asked the biggies to confine the discussion to the proposed Tickets Booking Portal.
Dil Raju, DVV Danayya, C Kalyan, distributors, and exhibitors have attended the meeting. The Government is keen on not initiating talks about the Ticket Prices Hike without getting assurance on implementation on the Ticket Booking Portal. However, this move of the Government has come as a huge embarrassment for the industry and particularly, Megastar Chiranjeevi.
Last night, at Love Story Pre-release event, we have seen Chiranjeevi pleading Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy not to kill the industry. While the Megastar took one step down and used words much below his stature, the Chief Minister obviously did not reciprocate it.
The industry is not happy about the Government postponing the actual issue of Prices which is hampering the film releases despite repeated requests. Chiranjeevi who unconditionally supported Jagan’s three capitals idea against to his brother Pawan Kalyan’s political ambitions is very much embarrassed with this. Chiranjeevi is also the first star from Tollywood to go and meet the Chief Minister after coming to power.
