YS Jagan Pawan Kalyan Vakeel SaabNV Prasad is said to be close to Megastar Chiranjeevi and is also producing Chiranjeevi’s next – the official remake of Lucifer. NV Prasad who also happens to be a senior film distributor in an interview came in support of the Jagan Government in the ongoing ticket price issue.

Chandrababu Naidu Government encouraged distributors to get permission for the high ticket prices from the Court. After such instances, the court asked the government to give a permanent G.O. to establish a standard procedure but it was not given,” NV Prasad said.

NV Prasad sounded like Chandrababu Naidu is at fault here but then, the TDP rule is a golden period for producers and distributors like NV Prasad who literally got whatever they want. The industry never really had any complaints back then. He also downplayed Jagan Government bringing the controversial G.O during the Vakeel Saab release.

“It is a coincidence that the issue has happened during Vakeel Saab release. There is nothing political about it. Some distributors overacted and went to court after a couple of Joint Collectors delayed permissions. The government was upset and brought in the G.O. overnight,” he added.

But then, that does not justify the Government thrusting rates of 2012 with a G.O. Even if we think that was a stopgap arrangement, the G.O. brought out after months of thought is also a shocker to the industry.
