As the political scenes indicate YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seem to be winding up shop in Telangana State. The party leader himself stated that there is no decision taken over contesting in Medak and his full concentration is on Assembly sessions indicating that Telangana is not a priority for Jagan. The party’s spokesmen are not speaking on the issues of Telangana government off late.

After the elections, Jagan had formed an adhoc committee for Telangana under Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy but the committee never began its work in Telangana. Recently the party also vacated its Hyderabad office and is operating from Jagan’s house in Hyderabad and is looking to relocate to Andhra Pradesh after the state capital announcement. YSR Congress has 3 MLAs and 1 MP in Khammam district and there are reports of those leaders being in talks with the ruling party.

Before the elections, Jagan himself announced that his sister Sharmila will take up the party affairs in Telangana and will begin with Padayatra there. But Sharmila was never seen in the party affairs in any state after the elections. Party followers in the region have lost their hopes on the party’s survival with Jagan’s attitude.
