Last month, In the name of Corona, Jagan Government has imposed huge restrictions for the celebration of the Vinayaka Chaviti Festival. It has become hugely controversial back then with some political parties and Hindu groups alleging that the government is trying to trouble Hindus.
As a result, Vinayaka Chaviti happened without much Hungama in Andhra Pradesh. The issue has landed up in the High Court and the court has given some relaxation. Keeping in mind the previous experiences, The Government has decided not to impose any restrictions on the upcoming Dussehra festival.
Meanwhile, the Telugu film industry and trade are taking this as a positive sign. They are hoping that the State Government will very soon take off the last COVID restriction i.e., 50% occupancy in the theaters and the night curfew which is hindering the second shows. If that happens sooner, new releases for Dussehra will be benefitted.
But then many such hopes previously were crushed. We will have to see what is in store in the coming days!
