Anitha Vangalapudi - YS JaganThe other day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made critical comments on the promoters of Bharat Biotech, the company behind Covaxin. He tried to cast aspirations on caste and the political basis on the promoters for delaying vaccines to AP.

The statement of the Chief Minister is inviting criticism from all quarters. TDP Polit Buro member Anitha Vangalapudi criticized the Chief Minister with the strongest words and termed the Chief Minister’s comments as children act.

“If his relative (Chandrababu’s) is making vaccines, your relative is making Gelatin sticks. Don’t talk as if you are a College Caste Group President, Remember you are a Chief Minister. Who stopped you from placing an order with Covishield?,” she alleged on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh is struggling to vaccinate its people particularly those of the 18-44 age group. The state vaccinated only 812 of its population of 18-44 age group as against Maharashtra’s 5,10,347. Opposition parties say that Jagan is trying to find lame reasons for his failure.
