YSR Congress just before the close of nominations time for Rajya Sabha elections, filed one more nomination. This is not to complete with TDP for getting one more seat. Auditor Vijaya Sai Reddy’s wife Sunandha Reddy has filed her nomination. She will be a dummy candidate for her husband.
It is said that legal experts have advised Jagan that Vijaya Sai Reddy may have problems due to the pending cases on him and so to be on safe side, his wife also filed nomination. In case, Vijaya Sai Reddy’s nomination is declined, then Sunandha Reddy will be the party’s candidate for the post.
If Vijaya Sai Reddy’s nomination is cleared, Sunandha Reddy will withdraw her nomination. YSR Congress is hopeful of Vijaya Sai Reddy clearing it. Since TDP has only fielded three candidates, YSR Congress candidate is likely to be elected unopposed.
