It is Confirmed, Reliance out of Andhra PradeshA couple of months ago, there were reports that Reliance Industries dropped its proposed Electronic Manufacturing unit worth 15000 Crore Investment. Reliance had signed an MoU in Feb 2018 with the then TDP government to manufacture mobile phones, television sets, and set-top boxes among other electronic gadgets in 150 acres at Renigunta.

Reliance had planned to manufacture 10 million mobiles annually from the plant. Back then, when the news of Reliance pulling out came, the State Government condemned the news. But the reports on Print media like Eenadu are that the lands allotted to Reliance are being taken back to use them for the Lands for Poor Scheme.

The Government has to allot 150 acres of land to reliance and 136.68 acres were already allotted. Now proposals are on to take back these lands. If this happens, it will be a huge blow to Andhra Pradesh and will also disrupt the plans of massive employment in the Rayalaseema region.

This will definitely not augur well for the image of Jagan Mohan Reddy Government and he should do something about it.
