With state getting divided, the residual Andhra Pradesh i.e., Seema Andhra is left stranded with deficit budget. The IT and ITeS Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITsAP), a registered apex body with more than 300 members representing the software industry feel that this is the major concern not only in Seema Andhra but also in Telangana. The association worked out a plan to brand the Tier-2 cities and towns in the both the regions so that IT investors are tempted to expand across the state.
They are showing the model implemented in Pune, a Tier-2 city in Maharashtra. The body suggested that cities like Visakhapatnam, Warangal, Karimnagar, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Nizamabad and Kakinada are capable of catering the needs of the IT industry provided the governments apply themselves in attracting investors. The apex body sent their proposals to all political parties and asked them to include in their manifestos. They also promised that they will do their part in the expansion of IT across all the corners of the state.
