YS Jagan Sakshi Paper AdvertisementYS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government tried its level best to prevent the Panchayat elections from happening. The Government even went to the Supreme Court to stop the elections but could not. Now, the elections are happening.

Now, all of sudden, the Government is aggressively campaigning for Panchayats to go for unanimous elections avoiding contests. The Government had released a new G.O. increasing the incentives for Panchayats which will go unanimous.

The Ministers have come before the media and propagated unanimous elections. “We will show the strength of YSR Congress in MPTC and ZPTC Elections. We want the villages to be peaceful so that our welfare schemes roll out successfully and reach the beneficiaries,” they say.

The Government has given full-page advertisements in several newspapers today underlining the importance of unanimous elections. While Jagan Government is waging a legal battle with Nimmagadda, everyone thought it is out of ego but no one suspected the Government fearing adverse results in this election. But this move has taken everyone by surprise.

Is there something happening in AP that we could not see? In the previously stalled MPTC and ZPTC Elections, there are instances of the ruling party going for unanimous elections by brute force as revealed by the SEC. So, when the Government is keen on unanimous elections in this election, there are doubts all over. Meanwhile, the Election Commission had appointed an IPS rank officer to oversee if there are forceful unanimous elections.
