A report in India Today reveals that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was ready to join Narendra Modi’s cabinet in the recent expansion but it got canceled at the last minute. The BJP Top Brass reportedly offered One Cabinet Berth with Independent charge and one MoS.
Jagan Mohan Reddy took the offer initially but at the last minute asked for another Cabinet Berth. The BJP was taken back at the last minute as such a move may will make the old allies uncomfortable.
The report says Jagan was ready with the names and sent the leaders to Delhi but there is no response from BJP. However, the Andhra CM maintained that he “would remain friendly towards the Centre and extend issue-based backing to it”.
BJP was keen on taking the Jagan’s party into NDA after the reports of Prashant Kishor trying to bring the party into the anti-BJP front he is stitching. BJP which has lost its trusted allies like Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, and the TDP is running out of partners for 2024 elections.
