Injury Woes Continue To Haunt Team IndiaInjury woes are not leaving Team India in the ongoing World Cup. Opener Shikar Dhawan was out of the tournament and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar already missed a few games. Now, the team management has announced that Vijay Shankar has been ruled out of the 2019 World Cup with a toe injury that he picked up during practice.

A Jasprit Bumrah yorker hit him on the toe. He missed the subsequent game against England on Sunday due to the injury. Rishabh Pant drafted into the side as his replacement. Now, Vijay Shankar is totally out of the tournament and the team management is likely to bring in Mayank Agarwal as his replacement.

Shankar just scored 58 runs in the World Cup and picked up two wickets against Pakistan in the World Cup. There was lots of talk regarding Shankar’s form but he has the confidence of the team management. Finally, the injury forced the team to bring in Rishabh Pant who put up a good show in India’s lone defeat against England.

Interestingly, Opener Mayank Agarwal who recently excelled on his Test debut in Australia is yet to make his limited-overs debut for India. It will be very interesting to see if he will make his debut in the World Cup.
