Injuries Continue To Haunt Team IndiaTeam India made sensational progress in the ongoing World Cup but the injuries are pegging back the team and have become a major cause of worry. Opener Shikar Dhawan is already out of the Tournament and Pace Bowler Bhuvaneshwar Kumar pulled out of the Pakistan Match after bowling just a few deliveries.

There is no complete update about Bhuvi’s fitness. Now reports are emerging that another Batsman, Vijay Shankar is also injured during the Practice. During Wednesday’s training, a Jasprit Bumrah yorker hit Vijay flush on his toes and he was in pain. The team management is tight-lipped about the injury.

Vijay Shankar is being used at the Number Four Position in the Indian team after KL Rahul took Dhawan’s place. He did not succeed much with the Bat in Pakistan game but got a couple of important wickets against Pakistan including that of skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed. Shankar’s injury will only increase tension for team management.

Rishabh Pant who is in the team as Dhawan’s replacement may get a game if Vijay Shankar is not match-fit. India will take on the minnow Afghanistan team this Saturday.
