water allottment apAndhra Pradesh government under Chandrababu Naidu is becoming more industrial friendly. The government recently rolled out a new industrial water allotment policy which allocates water within seven days from the date of filing the application as long as it is within 10 per cent water quota reserved for industrial use.

This allotment will be passed on by the District Industries Promotion Committee (DIPC) headed by Collector and State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC). However, in the event of any drought or water scarcity situations, then prorate release of water will be done to the industrial sector by irrigation authorities.

Government will also be providing land to those industries interested to construct reservoirs for water in case of their absence. Government will also provide infrastructure to those industries at subsidy rates if they use the retreated waste water for industrial use. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department is working on a comprehensive plan for recycling of sewage water for non-potable industrial use.
