The government of India had announced the Top 10 model villages in the country under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. A whopping seven villages on the list are from Telangana while not even a single village from the other Telugu States, Andhra Pradesh managed to be on the list.
Kerala, Jharkhand, and Odisha managed to get one village on the list. Now, this is called Real Rural Development! 7 villages out of the top 10 villages in the country under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana are from #Telangana. Kudos to Hon’ble CM KCR’s brainchild “PallePragathi” & my compliments to Panchayat Raj Minister @DayakarRao2019 Garu & his team (sic),” KTR tweeted on this occasion.
Jagan Government is accused of diverting Panchayat funds from the Finance Commission and Government of India to various welfare schemes. Guntur district Sarpanches association, the other day, called for a Pressmeet and demanded immediate release of funds.
In one year of the elections, the Panchayats did not get funds from the Government. We were not paid out honorary salaries as well. If funds are not released immediately, we will have to fight,” they warned the government.
The Union Government also announced to the Parliament recently that it is looking into the matter and will take action. The State Government is also sitting on the cash awards for Panchayats which have gone for unanimous elections. As a result of all this, the development in Andhra Pradesh villages is lagging big time.
