India's Nuclear Warning to Pakistan?Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh has made a sensational statement which may be a masked threat to the Arch-Rival, Pakistan. “Pokhran is the area which witnessed Atal Ji’s firm resolve to make India a nuclear power and yet remain firmly committed to the doctrine of ‘No First Use’. India has strictly adhered to this doctrine. What happens in the future depends on the circumstances,” he said.

Analysts say that this may be a veiled attack to Pakistan who is trying to instigate the International Community after India repelled Article 370 making Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir as Union Territories. Rajnath Singh visited Pokhran today and paid homage to the former Prime Minister of India and one of the stalwarts of Independent India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his first death anniversary.

India conducted its first Nuclear Test in Pokhran, Rajasthan way back in 1998. The tests were conducted in just one month after Vajpayee came to Power. On the other side, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary had announced that Phone, public movement restrictions will be eased area-wise.

The Jammu and Kashmir government also released a Press Note saying that 12 of the 22 districts are currently “functioning normally”, with some limited night-time restrictions in five of these.
