The United States Postal Service has earlier released postal stamps commemorating the important festivals celebrated across the world like Christmas, Eid, Kwanza and Hanukah. Now the US Postal service going to get a calling from US Senate to release a postal stamp commemorating Diwali.
It is learnt that two of the influential lawmakers Senator Mark Warner and Senator John Cornyn of the US Senate had introduced a resolution for the release of postal stamp on Diwali. It’s like the recognition for the Indians in America and also the Indians worldwide.
This postal stamp is seen as a honour recognising the importance of Diwali in a meaningful way. It is for all the Indian-Americans who celebrate the festival of lights and the lawmakers of US. The resolution would soon arrive to the House or Senate after being considered by a congressional committee.
