The 66-year-old man identified as Patro Siboram had just returned from a trip overseas and was said to be concerned about the increasing crime rate.

The incident took place at the Exxon on the 7100 block of Torresdale Avenue, a major commercial street in Tacony, north Philadelphia. The police have released a surveillance video and have requested people to help them identify the three masked men involved in the robbery.

The three armed men entered the gas station’s mini-mart and broke into a back area where Patro, the store’s clerk was. They shot him in the back and fled with the cash counter. Patro’s colleagues, customers, and neighbors remember him as a kind man, who knew many on a personal basis. Patro left behind his wife and a son.

While his neighbors mourned his untimely death, they share that Patro was concerned about the rise in crime in the area, including carjackings and attempted break-ins at the gambling machines inside the store.

It has to be noted that many Indians work at gas stations across the United States.
