team-india-bangladesh-2022Today, Bangladesh beat India by one wicket in the first ODI at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. India is touring Bangladesh for the first time since 2015, where they will be playing three ODIs in all and a Test match.

The Bangla Tigers are considered to be tough opponents on home turf and they proved it right by defeating India. However, it is a rather disturbing loss for India as Indians across the world are upset following the pale show with our neighbors.

The year 2022 has been what can be termed a ‘bad’ year for team India. Initially, they ended up losing to South Africa in Test and ODI matches, again on their home turf. They could not defeat England in the fifth Test despite the fact that England’s team is not in very good shape.

Team India put up a dismal performance at Asia Cup, wherein they could not make it to the final. Of course, they did beat Pakistan which many felt was more than winning Asia Cup. But not winning the cup remains a black mark. And to add salt to injury, they returned home after a semi-final loss in T20 World Cup in Australia.

After Virat Kohli was replaced by BCCI pet Rohit Sharma, team India has consistently played lackluster cricket highlighting the inefficiency of their captain in making decisions and using the available talent.

In the last month of the year, they started off with a dud once again. For cricket lovers in India and across the globe, 2022 will surely be a year they would want to forget!
