An industrialist from Nellore, Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy who was raided by Income Tax Officials recently was confirmed as YSR Congress’ Rajya Sabha MP Candidate in the upcoming biennial elections the next month.
YSR Congress was to get a seat in the three seats which will fall vacant. But then the back to back defections from the party to TDP is making it tough for the party to get hold of this seat. YSR Congress has brought in Vemireddy who can afford to keep the rest of the MLAs stick to the party with his money power.
Vemireddy was with the party from 2013 and is also the coordinator during 2014 elections but distanced himself after the party did not nominate him to Rajya Sabha. He tried to join TDP but things did not work out. He now returned to YSR Congress with this promise.
