Telangana state seem to have found no solace from the Power problems. The Power demand in the newest state of the country remains to be at the maximum. On Wednesday it is 179.5 Million Units and on Thursday it is still at 177 Million units with the deficit hovering from 30-45 million units every day. The deficit is attributed to the Hudhud Cyclone that his Vishakapatnam. Telangana is drawing about 800 MW from NTPC thermal unit (Simhadri) but the supply is stopped since the unit was affected by the cyclone.

On the other side due to the Simhadri stopping, Andhra Pradesh also suffers a shortage of 23 Million Units. However it is balanced as several parts of Uttarandhra has no power supply for about 2-3 days due to the Cyclone. Telangana’s agriculture mostly depends on bore wells which needs Power but farmers in Andhra Pradesh rely on canal irrigation. So the power demand in Andhra Pradesh is only between 130 and 145 million units with the highest demand registered is 145 Million Units on October 1st. Before the cyclone, there is no Power deficit in Andhra Pradesh.
