Prime Minister Imran Khan a little while ago, announced that the captured Indian Pilot, Vikram Abhinandan will be released tomorrow as a Gesture of Peace. That will mean the Wing Commander will be back on our soil in just 48 hours after his capture.

Making this announcement, Pakistan Prime Minister also offered to speak with his Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi to de-escalate the prevailing tension between both the countries. “We want peace and must sort out our problems via dialogue, he said in Pakistan Parliamentepisode

This episode reminds us of Flight Lieutenant (now Group Captain) Kambampati Nachiketa, piloting a Mig27 fighter aircraft was taken by Pakistan as the Prisoner of War during the Kargil War. He was captured in the early hours of the morning of May 27, 1999. He was held captive by Pakistani forces in Rawalpindi and was released eight days later.
