Biryani is available at every other step in Hyderabad and is a fortune for the sellers as it draws tons of customers. What could happen to such evergreen Hyderabadi Biryani? Demonetization.
Note ban brought scarcity of change around the country. Small stalls in Hyderabad wouldn’t use Swiping Machines and need cash for the transactions. People are bringing Rs. 2000 notes to the hotels and hotels are out of change to give back to the customers. Already the sales are down due to a cash crunch and adding to that the change issue has made it worse.
All the hotels and stall including the very famous Paradise too have hung boards mentioning to get the change for biryani and some displayed no change boards. Few popular restaurants like Minerva and Madina have introduced the token system for the survival. As per reports, the business has come down by 40%! Few of them have already shut down their shutters due to lack of sale.
