Hyderabad Information Technology Firms Begin Brainstorming on Lockdown Exit StrategyThe Central Government had allowed IT and ITeS Companies to work with a 50% workforce but the Telangana Government had decided not to extend the exemption. The complete Lockdown will be imposed in the state until May 7th. On the other side, the IT industry of Hyderabad is mulling over an exit plan from the Lockdown.

Hyderabad IT industry which employs 5.46 lakh people and is centralized around one geographical area cannot afford the 50 percent strategy as almost 2.5 lakh people will be traveling to just one part of the city every day. The companies initially are looking at allowing 5 percent to 10 percent of their mission-critical employees to come to the office

The companies are keen to confine some workforce to their houses only if there is no requirement to come to Work Place. The majority of companies opine that the productivity did not hit even when the employees are Work from Home. The 50 percent benchmark will come after two to three months.

Bringing more employees to the Work Place will also increase the management issues of social distancing and sanitizing if so many people head to the office suddenly. Work from Home will also result in a lot of cost-cutting measures to the companies which are essential in this period of Economic Slowdown.
