Hyderabad High Court's Clarity over Jayalalithaa's Heir?A ruling of Hyderabad High Court gave some clarity over the heir and inheritance of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa. An NGO called Garib Guide filed a PIL in the high court asking it to direct Telangana government to take over the assets of her in the state.

Jayalalithaa has 14 acres of agricultural land in Medchal village of Malkajgiri district, Telangana. She also has a commercial complex in Srinagar Colony, Hyderabad. The high court made serious comments on the petitioner on this occasion. The court said Jayalalithaa has a brother and there are children for him.

They court reaffirmed that Jayalalithaa’s blood relations will inherit Jayalalithaa’s assets according to Hindu Inheritance Act. The court also opined that the PIL was filed with an intention to get free publicity and imposed One Lakh penalty for the petitioner for wasting the court’s time.
