Hyderabad which is once famous for IT Coaching centers is slowly turning into a hub for Union Public Service (UPSC) coaching. There is an increase of 57% in the registration for the exam in the city in the last three years and during the same period, 64% more candidates from the city cleared the test.
Delhi remains the top choice for UPSC coaching but then Hyderabad is moving up the ladder as more students are coming to the city for their preparation. Hyderabad emerged as the popular choice due to good coaching centers and its affordable cost of living.
Some of the institutes are also being run by a group of former IAS officers making things rosy for them. Some of IIT coaching institutes have also opened IAS coaching wings. Experts attribute the spurt in the number of institutes in Hyderabad to rising interest among candidates.
