A team assigned by the National Human Rights Commission has started a four days tour in Andhra Pradesh. The team will visit several places in the Palnadu region, Guntur district where the Political Murders and tensions have flared up ever since the election results have arrived.
The Human Rights Commission deputed the team, following complaints by TDP that gross human rights violations have taken place in the region ever since YSR Congress came to Power. NHRC also took the cognizance of various reports that have surfaced in the media on these issues.
Earlier today, a delegation of TDP leaders met them and submitted a report of various complaints of atrocities on the TDP cadre and supporters. The team is also expected to interact with the alleged victims and ascertain the condition.
If they give a ruling against the Government, it will be a big blot on the Ruling Party’s image.
