The Central government had finally shown some mercy on the Cash strapped Andhra Pradesh. The Union Tourism ministry had sanctioned 13 crore for the development of the Visakhapatnam-Bheeminipatnam beach corridor under the Swadesh Darshan project. As a part of this corridor seven beaches will developed at the stretch of 30 km.
Ramakrishna beach, Kailasagiri, Rushikonda beach, Bavikonda, Thotlakonda Erramatti Dibbalu, Mangamaripeta and Bheemunipatnam beach, including Pavuralakonda are the beaches that will be developed with this fund. The Hudhud cyclone had washed away most of the beaches in Vishakapatnam,
With this fund, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is planning to develop parks, pathways, view towers, seating arrangements, roads with median lighting and illumination at select stretches, signage and tourist reception and interpretation centres. The project is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
