Until a couple of days ago, the entire media space is filled with the hardships being faced by the people in the pandemic. There are reports about people dying without oxygen, life-saving drugs, and endlessly waiting for hospital beds.The media coverage these days only speaks about how the state and central governments have let down the people by the lack of foresight and preparedness. As a result, people are losing lives. The government has come under pressure and to divert the media attention has unleashed Operation Diversion to keep the opposition and media busy with political issues, political experts opine.
“We have seen Jagan responding to Jharkhand Chief Minister in a totally unrelated issue. There have been numerous debates, allegations on social media and media about Jagan’s friendship with BJP. And then, there are non-bailable cases on Chandrababu and Lokesh,” they say.
“There is nothing in those cases but we will see so much of hungama in the name of issuing notices and probable arrests. All of sudden, AP will be a happy space for people, and it is all about the routine political fights which will end up nowhere. By the time, the cases will be struck down the courts, the important issues will be losing the crucial media attention,” they add.
