2 kids saved by jeevandhan schemeThe Telangana state’s organ harvesting scheme, Jeevandan is proving to be very helpful in case of emergencies. In this scheme, the state government is maintaining a database of all possible donors and registered hospitals can request the organs they need for a patient whose life could be saved through a transplant.

Two kids from Maharashtra got the required organs through the donors with the help of this scheme and got successfully operated in KIMS, Secunderabad. The doctors in both the cases attribute the success of the surgery to the prompt response of Jeevandan team and the donors.

The state government is planning several educative campaigns going further to motivate people about donating organs of the dead or brain dead patients to Jeevandan so that they will be readily available to requiring patients. In many cases, these organs which go buried or burnt will breath life in to others.
