Hospitals to Stop Aarogyasri Services in Telangana In what can be termed as a major embarrassment for the ruling party ahead of the elections in Telangana, the Aarogyasri Network of Hospitals in the state have threatened to stall the services from December 1st. The State Government has pending dues of 1200 Crore for these hospitals which have accumulated for the last few years.

In the last six months, the government has only paid 250 Crore to the hospitals. The hospitals say they did not trouble the government even when bills accumulated but they have reached a point that they themselves could not afford further. Sources tell us that the Telangana Government has been diverting the funds to its new schemes like Raithu Bandhu.

Another old scheme Fees Reimbursement also got into trouble in Telangana. The State Government is currently lobbying with the hospitals to delay the shutdown for some more time. If at all, the hospitals refuse the services from December 1st, it will be big trouble for the Ruling Party on the election day (December 7th).
