Hopes Lost on Hyderabad Information Technology Investment RegionLooks like the promise of ITIR for Hyderabad has disappeared into thin air. The Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) which will bring a lot of investments and employment opportunities was promised to Hyderabad by the previous UPA government.

However, the new government after 2014 showed no interest in pursuing it. The Project will cost 3600 Crore and IT Minister KT Rama Rao had taken the issue with Union Government several times to of no use. Telangana government itself lost all the hopes on this project.

ITIR’s anticipated benefits are 310,849 Crores of Direct Revenues, 219440 Crores of IT Investment Potential, 235000 Crores of IT Exports, Direct Employment of nearly 15 Lakhs and Indirect Employment of nearly 53 Lakhs. The Project is expected to increase the tax revenue of the state by 30170 Crores.
