Hindupur: YCP Condition Turns WorseHindupur is one of the most crucial assembly segments in Andhra Pradesh as it has Nandamuri Balakrishna from TDP in contention. Despite the strong YCP wave in 2019, Balayya registered a thumping victory from the constituency.

Now, YCP’s condition in Hindupur has gone from bad to worse as inside wars have taken the center stage.

The sitting MLA Mohammed Iqbal is not in good terms with the local YCP leaders and the matter is so very severe that Jagan’s right hand Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is directly dealing with it.

YCP local leaders in Hindupur Naveen Nischal and Abdul Ghani have made it clear to the YCP high command that they can’t work under Iqbal who is constantly trying to assert his dominance on them. They say he is not from Hindupur and hence lacks an understanding of the local politics.

On the other hand, Iqbal has reportedly stated that he is ready to leave Hindupur if chief minister Jagan asks him to. The war of words between the two camps has left Peddireddy perplexed and he is apparently asking for Jagan’s involvement in the same.

With 2024 elections not too far from now, Jagan has to sort out the important Hindupuru issue if he is to pose a threat to Balakrishna here. It is not going to be an easy task though.
