High Court's Direction On Ticket Prices Disappointment For PushpaThe AP High Court on Thursday held a hearing on the prices of movie tickets. The AP government went to the division bench challenging the single judge verdict. The government has sought to stay on the judgment of the single bench suspending G.O 35 which set ticket prices abnormally less.

The court ordered the theater owners to put the ticket price proposals before the joint collector as per the orders of the single judge. The High Court bench said that the Joint Collectors would decide on the ticket prices. The court directed that a government committee be set up to decide on ticket prices in line with previous directions.

The High Court then adjourned the case till Monday. Probably, this is a disappointment for the makers of Pushpa. In all likelihood, the Joint Collectors are likely to follow what the Government wants to. That means Pushpa will have to release the prices dictated by the Government. Pushpa distributors and exhibitors have stopped their bookings and are waiting for the High Court’s judgment.

They will have to open the bookings now. And the industry is worried about this committee. The Governments can delay things in the name of committees. They are hoping the High Court gives a clear ruling on this issue in the next hearing on Monday. But for now, Pushpa will have no advantage.
