HC-for-2-states

The current Andhra Pradesh high court in Hyderabad will function for both the states following the state bifurcation. This provision will continue till a separate high court is established for the New Andhra Pradesh state or a period of maximum 10 years whichever is shorter. During this period, AP High Court will be renamed as High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and State of Andhra Pradesh.

Once there is a separate high court for Seema Andhra, the name will be changed to the Telangana High Court and all the assets of the current high court will belong to the Telangana state. It is known that Chandra Babu Naidu, the Chief Minister designate of Andhra Pradesh had met the union law affairs minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad and asked him to accelerate the process of sanctioning a separate high court for the new Andhra Pradesh.
