High Court refuses to stay on Municipal results!
Andhra Pradesh High Court a short while ago refused to issue a stay order on the recently concluded Municipal Elections. Few people knocked the doors of high court to put the results of these elections under wraps until the completion of General elections. They argued that these results may have an impact on electorate while casting their vote in the main elections. However, High court did not agree to their view.

The court ordered the election commission to take up the counting and announce the results on April 9th. The lawyers who are fighting YS Jagan’s corruption cases are the ones who filed this petition. They filed similar petition in Supreme Court over MPTC/ZPTC elections and got a stay from the apex court successfully. We will have to see if the petitioners knock the doors of Supreme court in this issue. The results of these elections will be an indication of the mood of voters just before the main election.
