In the wake of rumours about massive irregularities in the electoral rolls of Telangana, Hyderabad High Court once again adjourned the case maintaining the suspense. In the petition filed by Congress Senior Leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Election Commission submitted Affidavit today in the court.
Election Commission told the court that it has addressed 34 Lakhs of Objections about the electoral rolls. And also informed to the court that Voter Enrollment and corrections are continuous processes and there can not be any deadlines for that. The counsel on the behalf of the Petitioner sought more time to submit more details.
The court posted the next hearing to the day after tomorrow. Telangana Elections will happen on December 7th and the results will be out on 11th. The Opposition is hoping that the courts intervene and halt the election notification until the errors in the Voters List are addressed by the EC.
