andhrapradesh-high-courtThe high court division issue between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana seem to be not going further. The Union Law Ministry threw the ball in Andhra Pradesh government’s court by saying that they are ready for the division but only after AP government showing the location of high court and creating proper infrastructure and facilities needed for the state apex court.

However Andhra Pradesh government seem to be not so active in this issue. The government wants the high court in Amaravathi and it will take a minimum of 3-4 years for the exercise of infrastructure development to complete. The high court or Telangana government can not force Andhra Pradesh in this issue and so it is clear that the high court division is not possible in near future.

It is known that the court already opined that Telangana or Andhra Pradesh high court can not operate from temporary location and it needs full infrastrue in place for the division. Earlier Union Law Department had written a letter to Telangana government to provide suitable area for the new high court and the state government promptly replied to it by allotting space in Gachibowli Games Villages. But Hyderabad High Court opined that it is Andhra Pradesh who should be shifting to the new high court according to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.
