India’s fourth largest IT services company HCL Technologies will be the first IT Major to set shop in Amaravati if its plans of setting up one of its largest development centers materialize. This will see investments of over 1000 Crore. The company is on the verge of signing the MOU with Chandrababu Naidu’s government.

The talks are said to be in an advanced stage and when materialized will help Chandrababu Naidu‘s dream to recreate Cyberabad in residual Andhra Pradesh. The development center will come up on over 30 acres of land near Amaravati in two phases, where the first phase will take off in a year or so.

HCL Technologies has been expanding its footprint in tier-2 cities since the past few years. It has establishments in Lucknow, Madurai etc. The facilty will house 3,000 professionals in the first phase and another 3,000 engineers in the second phase which will boost the local employment to a great extent due to the proximity to several leading engineering colleges in and around Vijayawada
