high-court

Telangana government seems to get lot of brick bats from the judiciary these days. Latest being the Andhra Pradesh high court. Hearing a plea by a AP resident of the city, the high court bench questioned Telangana government how it derived the decision of GO No. 3 on June 17, 2014 that directed all vehicle owners to change their number plates from AP to TS through a process of re-registration.

The petitioner argued that when all the vehicles of other states roam in the city with their state numbers paying the road tax why is that the vehicles of AP have to change their numbers. The petitioner argued that this is nothing but the state-sponsored bulldozing. Telangana transport department counsel said the GO in question was only a preliminary notification and that nothing has been finalized yet by the state.
