Nirmal Singh attacked in new yorkOn Sunday, an elderly unprovoked Sikh man was punched in New York’s Queens in what seems like a hate crime.

The 75-year-old victim, identified as Nirmal Singh, was walking his way to the Sikh Cultural Society in Queens at 7 AM when an assailant socked him in the nose at 95th Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard in Richmond Hill. This left the innocent Nirmal Singh bleeding in serious pain.

According to the cops, the attacker, without saying any word, fled after the assault. The cops took Singh for an evaluation at an area hospital. The doctors identified that his nose had been broken during the assault, in addition to the severe bruises.

Nirmal Singh spoke to the media in his native language, Punjabi, while still wearing his bloodied jacket. He told to media that the suspect attacked him from behind. He also added that he had only been in the country for two weeks on a visitor visa.

Bystander Gurinder Singh told the police he witnessed the aftermath of the assault.
