KCR Government is angry with Union Government not paying attention to its list of 35 items that need immediate attention and exemptions or changes in the GST rates. The state government already represented to the Council about its objections but are not considered.
The state alleges that the center is taking the advantage of the problems peculiar to the state and it does not find support from others at the Council due to that. Only Telangana and Chattisgarh have to deal with GST on beedis.
Similarly, only Telangana raised the issue of granite industry while Rajasthan also raised its concerns about quarrying in that state. The other states that do not have these problems do not join in. The Center is taking advantage of it, the government claims. The state will make a forceful argument again today at the final GST Council meeting before its roll out.
