Green Tribunal Legal Notice to KTRNational Green Tribunal (NGT) had taken cognizance of Congress MP Revanth Reddy’s complaint about Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao’s (KTR) illegal farmhouse construction. The Tribunal issued legal notices to the Minister asking for his explanation of the violation.

The said farmhouse is in Janwada village in Ranga Reddy district. GO 111 prohibits construction activity within 10 km distance of Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar and the farmhouse violates that. Revanth Reddy pointed out that the GO 111 mandated that hotels and residential structures should not be constructed anywhere in the 84 listed villages in six mandals which constitute the catchment area of the two lakes.

A couple of months back, Revanth Reddy and former MP K Vishweshwar Reddy, accompanied by their supporters and media persons made a vain attempt to barge into the farmhouse to explain to the newsmen that the construction was ‘illegal’. A case was filed and Revanth was arrested for trespassing and flying a drone over the private property without permission.

It was alleged that KTR has spent Rs 25 crores to build the farmhouse in the land with an estimated worth of Rs 250 crores.
