Green Tribunal stays constructions in AmaravatiEnvironmentalist P.Sreemannarayana who is trying to halt the construction of Amaravati, once again knocked the door of the National Green Tribunal. He filed a petition against the Andhra Pradesh government alleging that it resorted to violation of the Tribunal orders by going about the Foundation ceremony with out environmental clearances.

The attorney of the government informed the court that they have all the necessary permissions for the capital construction. The Tribunal issued a notice to the state government and gave one week time to answer that.

The tribunal also asked the government to put up the environmental clearances on its website if they have obtained them. It is known that previously the tribunal directed the state not to bulldoze agricultural fields or clear the land in the area and imposed a stay on the capital construction.
