National Green Tribunal Hails Naidu's Land PoolingNational Green Tribunal which is looking into the cases over Environmental Clearances of Amaravati refused to buy the arguments of the complainants. They have alleged that farmers are ending up as big losers due to the Land Pooling scheme and there is no rehabilitation scheme for them.

But then the tribunal opined that farmers are benefitted from the scheme as they have got commercial and residential plots in lieu of their lands and they are also given pensions. “Considering all this, we can not say farmers are not rehabilitated,” the tribunal said.

The state government has voluntarily pooled more than 33000 acres for the Capital construction. This is the biggest and most peaceful land collection in the history of Independent India. Land acquisition is on for the left over 3549.61 acres in the area.
