Green Tribunal Clears Line to AmaravatiNational Green Tribunal has cleared all the decks for the construction of Amaravati construction. The Green Tribunal has taken the petitions filed against the Capital Construction but struck them down refusing further debate on the issue.

However, Green Tribunal has taken some measures to address the apprehensions. The state government was asked to follow the 191 rules in the capital construction. NGT also instructed to ensure that Kondaveeti Vaagu flow is not disrupted even though it can be diverted.

NGT also asked the government not to take up any construction encroaching Krishna River. NGT also appointed two committees. These committees will supervise the capital construction and will be giving periodic reports about the construction to NGT.

Earlier these petitions against the Capital Construction were filed in Supreme Court but the apex court directed the petitioner to approach the National Green Tribunal. With Tribunal clearing it, all the decks can be assumed to be cleared.
