Irrigation Minister, Anil Kumar Yadav has responded on the ongoing controversy about Drones flying over Chandrababu Naidu’s Residence in Undavalli. “We have used Drones to estimate the Flood Situation. It is the government’s responsibility to save people living along the coast. We have taken Irrigation Department Permission for using Drones,” he said.
But then, the fact is that the Irrigation Department has no purview over permitting Drones. The Local Police Department has to issue such permission. When there is a VIP residence or office, they should consult the Chief Security Officer of the Location for Permission.
In this case, there is no permission from the local police. Those who were caught using drones did not even say they have the permission of the Irrigation Department. On record, they said that they shot the footage on the instruction of one person named Kiran who works in Jagan’s Residence.
