Ashwini-Vaishnaw-Elon-Musk-TwitterElon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter had been bringing radical changes to the social media platform following his recent takeover. His most recent decision is to vastly cut down the Twitter global workforce.

Speaking about Twitter sacking a major chunk of its workforce, Indian IT Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw faulted the top management.

“We condemn the way Twitter handled the layoff process in India. The idea of sacking the employees with immediate effect is not right. The employees should have been given enough time to search for new jobs” the IT Minister commented.

Reportedly, Twitter cut down its workforce in India by a staggering margin. Of the total 230 employees, the social media giant had in India, 180 were reportedly given the pink slip. Incidentally, a few departments in Twitter operations in India are with no employees now.

There are reports that around 50% of Twitter’s global workforce of 8000 people will be handed the pink slip in the mass layoff that is in motion now.
