Andhra Pradesh Assembly has convened today to discuss the Thanks motion to Governor’s Address. TDP MLAs have protested in the house after the Speaker repeatedly denied them mike to talk.
Even PAC Chairman Payyavula Keshav was refused mike despite many requests.
Finally, Payyavula and Nimmala Ramanaidu were suspended for the remainder of the session while the other TDP MLAs were suspended for one day.
YSR Congress Rebel MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy protested since morning asking the Government to solve the issues plaguing his constituency. The Treasury benches moved suspension motion and got him suspended for the rest of the session.
It is very uncommon to suspend a member on the first day itself for the remainder of the session unless there is a serious offense. But Payyavula and Ramanaidu are the most-vocal members of TDP.
It is difficult for the Government to face them after presenting the budget and so, they were suspended for the rest of the session to make things easy for the Treasury Benches.
Kotamreddy was suspended to avoid the embarrassment of facing protests from their own MLA.
Meanwhile Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy will present the budget tomorrow in the house. This is the last full-fledged budget of Jagan before the 2024 elections.
